I’ve been a longtime fan of Estelle Colored Glass—who doesn’t love a fun, colorful glass to elevate a party?! Whether it’s small gathering of friends or a hundred guests celebrating 15 years of JPJ, I love toasting with a beautiful Estelle glass.
I’ve had the good fortune of crossing paths with founder Stephanie Summerson Hall over the years, and I always enjoy chatting with her. I love that her inspiration came from weekends spent treasure hunting for colored glass with her grandmother, Estelle—a story that brings such depth and soul to the brand.
Stephanie is an incredibly smart, thoughtful, and measured presence. She takes everything in stride—with grace and quiet strength. It’s no wonder she’s built a brand carried by retailers nationwide, created her dream storefront on King Street in Charleston, and somehow manages all of this while raising five children.
This soft-spoken powerhouse does it all, and makes it look seamless.

We asked Stephanie a few questions so that you can get to know her, and we are so excited to share a little bit about a woman who inspires us:
Tell me a little about what you do.
I am the founder and CEO of Estelle Colored Glass which is a luxury brand offering the largest colored glass collection in the world.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by a plethora of things including the seasons, architecture, jewelry, vintage pieces, fashion, and interior design.
Who are your greatest influences?
Shelia Johnson, an African American business mogul, and the countless women and men that have been part of my journey and who shaped me into the person I have become.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
Be intentional with your actions and let each action lead to your overall goals.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am proud of transitioning from my career as an attorney to becoming an entrepreneur, which took lots of perseverance as I navigated the creative space.
What is one challenge you've experienced that has led to growth?
Every failure has led to growth in my opinion. Every setback has led to first hand knowledge that is invaluable to me as I lead our brand.
Is there anything you'd like to share about your journey to where you are now?
I think it is crucial to be determined on the hard days and to keep facing each day and each challenge to the best of your ability.
How do you make time to recharge?
I do not over commit and do not glorify being too busy.
How do you hope to inspire and uplift others?
Everyday in both small and significant ways I try to inspire by sharing wins and being transparent in sharing setbacks.
Where is your happy place?
Enjoying an amazing meal I did not prepare. Reading a book I can't put down. Quiet time to think.
Do you have anything fun on the horizon?
Looking forward to beach time with my family.
