JP x CZH DUALITY Collection: an exercise in quiet alchemy

I had the most meaningful experience working with Caroline Z Hurley. She brings a deep intentionality to her work—every decision she makes is thoughtful and deliberate. Her eye for balance, space, and the quiet sophistication of modern whimsy shines through in her textile designs. What resonated most with me was her masterful use of negative space. It reignited my own background in art and photography, particularly my love for composition. That shared sensibility became the foundation of the collaboration.

As we translated Caroline’s artistic language into wearable form, I focused on intentional stone placement—letting each design speak to a duality that felt both personal and universal. Each pairing of stones was chosen for both its material beauty and its symbolic meaning. Juxtaposed, they reflect the inner dualities we all carry—offering not just adornment, but intention.
