JP Story

I am so excited you are here at JP Jewelry. I have been following my passion for design and beauty and creating jewelry for the past 24 years. I started a little home jewelry business in 2000 with a friend and my cup has been filled with beauty and growth and a love for what I do since then. I am so thankful for each time a client hand selects JP Jewelry, for every kind word, and for the feedback you give me on how JP can be better. I am ever evolving and just so thankful to be doing what I love after all of these years. I look forward to many, many more!

xx Jane

Welcome!

Welcome!

JP Jewelry is a sustainable jewelry brand based in Charleston, South Carolina. We are a fully female team that is passionate about creating truly unique, modern heirloom pieces, handmade in an environmentally and socially responsible way.

In creating each JP piece, we work closely with suppliers to source one-of-a-kind stones from reliable sources. We use recycled gold in all of our pieces to minimize our environmental impact and reduce the demand for newly mined gold.  We believe that the jewelry you wear should be as meaningful as it is beautiful. Whether you are searching for a statement piece or an everyday staple, we invite you to explore the JP collection.

Thank you for supporting our commitment to ethical and sustainable practices with purpose. Our mission is to create quality craftsmanship for a lifelong customer, while giving back to the community that supports us. Ultimately, we are handcrafting pieces you will be proud to wear and hand down to someone you love for years to come.

Jane Pope Cooper

Designer, Creative Director

Jane Pope Cooper is the designer and creative director behind Jane Pope Jewelry. In 2001, Jane launched her first collection of vintage statement jewelry, BALBOA. The line signed immediately by Barneys New York and was featured in Elle and Glamour magazines. In 2004, Marie Claire magazine named Jane as one of the “10 Best Stylemakers to Watch.”

After graduating with a fine jewelry design degree from the Gemological Institute of America in Los Angeles, Jane lived in New York and studied fabrication, including wax carving, casting and stone setting. Jane also has a Graduate Diamond Degree from the GIA.  She launched her second line, Jane Pope Jewelry, in 2007, a collection informed by her growing interest in fine jewelry and her love for working with elevated materials. Jane Pope Jewelry quickly became known for its uniquely imperfect style.

The JP brand is has grown over the past 15 years. After years of working with outside manufacturing, Jane started Conscious Casting, LLC. This in-house female powered team ensures the ethical sourcing and responsible manufacturing while meeting her high standards of quality. JP Jewelry and Conscious Casting share a space in JP Studios and work collaboratively to create each handcrafted piece.

Conscious Casting LLC offers other designers the same creative solutions: better communication, positive problem solving, and high quality production.

Each JP piece is handmade in-house by our team of women makers in our Charleston, SC studio.

We use recycled gold in all of our pieces to minimize our environmental impact and reduce the demand for newly mined gold.  In 2024 we started a GOLD INITIATIVE to encourage clients to bring in their old gold pieces to be used in our casting process or recycled if not able to be used in casting.
