10 years ago today
Welp, I can't believe it has been 10 years. I would like to say that I don't take a day for granted, but we all have those days. All I know is that I feel incredibly luck to be alive and well. You can read more here, if you are new to my story. The gist is that I ended up in the ER after having headaches for months. After some trauma and mess, part of my brain was removed by Dr. Vandergrift at MUSC the day after my 35th birthday. Besides some subsequent double vision and two surgeries to correct said vision issues, I have been remarkably healthy since.
In short, I am forever grateful for the incredible staff at MUSC and for the many friends and family that rallied around me during this crazy time. I have been more emotional in the past 6 months, and it is fully a feeling of gratitude for the second chance I got on life and for every day I get to watch my babies grow into the thoughtful, kind, smart, people they are becoming. I am so thankful for the support of my amazing staff and JP community and of course your support here.
