JP x The Dewberry

The Dewberry is a very personal place for me. It was my getaway before I moved back to Charleston, and since my return it has become my favorite staycation. I've gathered there for incredible events and speakers, and The Living Room is one of my favorite spots to meet friends. Every detail of the hotel feels intentional, and there's a warmth to it that makes it feel like home to so many of us here, and to so many visitors who carry a little bit of Charleston home with them.

One of those details is the hotel's beautiful botanical pattern, designed with the ever-talented Sisal Creative and artist Becca Barnet. It features the native dewberry plant alongside other indigenous Lowcountry flora, and you'll find it woven throughout the hotel, from the linen wallpaper in the elevator vestibules to the room keys. My favorite place to spot it is on the custom armoires in the guest rooms. Charleston homes were once taxed by the number of bedrooms they had, and a closet was what made a room a bedroom, so armoires became the clever way around it. I just love a detail with a story behind it!

So when talk of a collaboration between JP and The Dewberry began, I was absolutely thrilled. Translating this pattern into jewelry felt like such a natural fit. I wanted each piece to hold that same sense of place: a little bit of history, a little bit of the Lowcountry, handmade inour Charleston studio in recycled gold. These are pieces to wear long after you've checked out, and someday to pass down. They're just so special and perfectly unique, like The Dewberry itself.
