JP Women Who Inspire: Lindsey Belle

I remember so distinctly meeting Lindsey Lynch in NYC. I was doing an event with Hunter Bell (then Dixon), who was from SC and a mutual friend, when Lindsey’s magnetic personality immediately captivated me. Her positive energy drew me in right away, and I loved that she was a photographer—a fellow budding creative in the city I could connect with.

Soon after, I hired Lindsey to shoot some headshots of me on the streets of NYC. I was new to the city and needed updated photos for the JP website. I loved them so much that I knew she had to do the very first JP shoot. My dear friend Carter modeled (see below- how GORGE is she?!) and we met in Soho for an afternoon session. To this day, those images remain some of my favorites of JP. The shoot was a mix of BALBOA Jewelry and JP pieces—a nod to the past—and Lindsey’s signature sun flare and perfect use of light made the whole collection glow. She later photographed my family after my son was born, and again, those remain some of my most treasured photos.

A few years ago, I learned that Lindsey was battling breast cancer… and winning! In true Lindsey fashion, she turned that challenge into fuel—running marathons while fighting cancer. Only Lindsey could take on something so daunting and transform it into a source of strength and positivity.

When we were planning the JP × CZH launch, Lindsey was one of the first people I thought to invite. I was thrilled when she RSVP’d “YES”—and even more delighted to learn she is great friends with Caroline’s sister. The world is small in the best ways. Reconnecting with her that night reminded me just how much I wanted to collaborate again.

Lindsey is a lovely human—warm, genuine, and full of light. She’s a brilliant photographer, a mother to her precious Stella and Liam, and a resilient breast cancer survivor. She is a multifaceted, beautiful soul, and I’m so thankful for a friendship that now spans nearly two decades.

Stay tuned for more from JP × LB.

xx Jane

We asked Lindsey a few questions so that you can get to know her, and we are so excited to share a little bit about a woman who inspires us:

Tell me a little about what you do.

I am a lifestyle photographer in NYC. I love to photograph people! I started my photography journey about 18 years ago. I have always loved photography and never thought it could be a career until I realized that I needed to do something that I was passionate about. I love the people that I meet and photograph and so many of them become amazing friends! Like you Jane! We met through mutual friends many many years ago, and I did a really fun shoot for your gorgeous jewelry way back then! And have loved being your friend ever since.

What inspires you?

Nature inspires me the most. And poetry. And kind people that use their beautiful energy to create art and healing in the world.

Who are your greatest influences?

Stella and Liam, my two children. They are definitely my greatest teachers, and they influence how I live my life.

What is one challenge you've experienced that has led to growth?

Breast cancer for sure! In 2022, I was diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer in my left breast and quickly had surgery and radiation. Thank goodness for mammograms!! I caught it early. But that sure was a challenge. Mentally and physically. I learned so much about myself and my friendships and what I want in life. I became even more grateful for my health. I have been in a race my whole life to accomplish and check things off, and now I am learning to slow down. Cancer also led me to my marathon running which is now something that challenges me and pushes me, as I work to raise money for cancer research with each run.

What is the best advice you've ever received?

You can do anything at all with your life with enough passion, hard work, and patience. Second best piece of advice: Get a second opinion if you received a heavy medical diagnosis. And maybe even a third!

How do you make time to recharge?

When I was diagnosed with cancer, I had so many people come to me with ideas for healing. Meditation. Breathwork. Holistic healing. Reiki. Writing. Energy work. I try to use my free time to quiet my mind and be still. That plus running in Central Park totally recharges me.

What is your favorite quote?

"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it." - Roald Dahl

How do you hope to inspire and uplift others?

I hope to inspire and uplift people by sharing my story. I have realized that when I am vulnerable with my journey, it seems to help others. Just as when people are vulnerable with me, it has helped me so much. To know that we are not alone is so important.

Where is your happy place?

I have two! Running around the Central Park reservoir in all weather conditions is a happy place for me. It’s where I feel alone with my thoughts, and I feel connected to nature. My other happy place is in the ocean or in my backyard with friends and family in East Hampton.

Do you have anything fun on the horizon?

Yes! I am running my 4th marathon with Fred’s Team (Memorial Sloan Kettering’s official charity) in Chicago this October. I can’t wait!!

JANE’S PIECES ARE SO SPECIAL! I love my entire Jane collection and can’t wait to keep growing it! My first pieces were the seed, twig and branch gold and rose gold bangles from our first shoot together. The shapes are so organic and remind me of nature. When my kids were born, I got my gorgeous family charm necklace with my husband, kids and dog’s names along with a heart, star and moon. My most favorite sentimental piece is the nose print of my dog Gizmo shaped as a heart. Gizmo died 4 years ago and right before he died, Jane shipped me a piece of clay that I molded to his nose and sent it back to her to turn into a gold necklace. It’s so so so special. My reminder of Gizmo every day. I wear this necklace every single day; even on my marathons! I just recently got a lightning bolt earring, and I wear it every day also!
