CHARLESTON GIFT GUIDE

I am always focused on supporting local businesses, so during the holidays this year, I thought of all of my favorite local people and wanted to do a shout out of some great gift items. I will likely update this post periodically as new things come to my attention, but wanted to give it a place to call home.

Experiences are at the top of my gift giving.

Places to Stay:

The Dewberry. This is my favorite hotel in town and where we put up all of our visitors. I adore the Library lounge and the Citrus Club for city skyline views.  The rooms are so lovely and the staff is the best.

The Nickel. This is a new spot I have yet to try, but I'm headed there soon for my bday drinks before hitting The Ordinary with my usual gal pals. I love the look of the hotel and can't wait to check it out.

Both places are great, and a staycation or visit to Charleston is always a go-to for gift giving.

Brands I love:

Vincent James.  Heather is so incredibly talented and intentional with her creations. I own most of her dresses, but my most recent purchase has become an obsession. I've worn it for a JP collaboration dinner this summer, a family holiday card, a luncheon, out to dinner, to my office holiday event and more. I've styled it so many ways- with a shirt underneath, a coat over it, with all of the JP- and I never tire of it.

80 Muze. A fragrance brand I can truly get behind. Female Founder Amber Scott is a beauty inside and out and her fragrances are clean and thoughtfully crafted. I have a very sensitive nose, so I have to really love a scent. No. 17 is my go-to and is also my daughter's favorite.

RMS Beauty. This brand was my intro into clean beauty. After my brain tumor in 2012, I vowed to cut out toxic products wherever I could. I went to an event where Rose Marie did my makeup and gave me the 411 on her products- I was hooked. There are so many more clean beauty brands out there these days, but I still gravitate toward RMS. I have a minimal routine that I can do day or night - SunCoverup in tan, Straight Up Peptide Mascara in black, ReDimension Blush in bermuda rose, and the Legendary Lip Oil in clear. Anything from RMS would make a great gift for your most experienced makeup lover or someone new to the brand.  My daughter loves their makeup and the products are ones I can feel good about gifting her.

Charleston Artist Collective. There are so many incredible artists that show at the Collective. I love this recent work by Way Way Allen and would love to receive this as a gift. There are also many small works that are perfect for gift giving.

E.M. Reitz. I must admit, I don't own one of these shirts yet, but Erin Reitz' designs are so incredibly beautiful and well made that I cannot wait to own one. I can't decide if I want to go with a more classic style or one of the super cool, unique designs like The Kingfisher or The Mirador.

Experiences:

The Works/ The Works Cycle. Who doesn't love a workout package as a gift?!  Popie has been going a lot, so she is definitely getting a package in her stocking. I hope my family thinks of me and gets me a package too... Fingers Crossed.

Monrowe. Meg and her team truly are the best of the best. I would trust their recommendations for hair, makeup, and anything else beauty! They have a cute table of all of their favorite beauty goodies on a table in the shop. A gift card for a service would also be on the top of my list!

Escape Haven Candle Co. I have had so much fun creating candles and ADORN with Ebeny. I think a candle making class would make a great gift for your friend who knows what he/she likes.

Shop:

Nette. This little shop nestled in Hampton Park has become my go to spot for retail therapy. Liz and her team are the loveliest bunch and they are always so helpful. Each piece feels hand picked and curated beautifully. Whether I am shopping for a gift or myself, it's the perfect spot.

Worthwhile. I have loved this shop since it was on King Street, but it's new spot off of King is the perfect backdrop. Cashmere lines like Lauren Moonigian, EM Reitz tops, and slip dresses by European lines give this little white pill box shop such a luxe feel.
