Generations of JP Q&A- Vicki
I so vividly remember meeting Vicki Rider in my then Balboa + JP studio on Chapel Street here in Charleston. She came with her son-in-law to pick out a gift for her daughter, Lauren. She is such a light and was so lovely and kind that I felt like I had known her forever.
Since that day, the Rider/Lail women have been in my life in the most beautiful way. Vickie and her adorable husband, Doc, have hosted us at The Oaks, the Derby, and in Saratoga for the races—so incredibly kind of them! Vickie is such a nurturing, lovely ray of light. She fiercely loves her people and is truly a grandmother extraordinaire.
I am so grateful that Alice Keeney was able to capture these forever photos of these three beautiful, strong, and kind people. I have so much love for these 3 generations of JP women.
I am honored to read and share Vicki's kind words below.
xx Jane
How does it feel when you put on your favorite JP piece? When I wear a piece of Jane's jewelry it feels personal and one of a kind! You know it's crafted with such care and heart, truly special!!!! Just like Jane! Are there particular moments or memories that JP brings to mind?I get so many compliments on Jane's pieces and it feels so special when I tell them, it was hand made and designed just for me!! All of Jane's pieces are unique and cool! Something you can not get at other jewelry stores!!!Is there a piece of jewelry you hope to pass down - or receive - one day?I will pass all my JP pieces to Lauren, Evie and Amelia, they are all personal and family related, true keepsakes! Most of my pieces were purchased for me for special occasions, so all are truly heirlooms!!!In one word, how would you describe the relationship between these generations of women?LOVE would be the word that comes to mind for our three generations! And Jane's pieces are an expression of that love!!!
