JP Women Who Inspire: Alicia Lund

I am so excited to feature Alicia Lund as this month’s JP Woman Who Inspires. Alicia and I have worked together for many years, and she has always been such a big supporter of JP Jewelry. Her style is something I truly admire — elevated yet effortless — and I’ve often found myself influenced by her because of her authenticity. I trust her, her recommendations, and her incredible sense of style, which is why I wanted to collaborate and have her in the studio recently.

It was amazing to reconnect after all these years and to be reminded of her incredibly impressive career path. Alicia is one of the original voices in blogging, but her journey goes far beyond that. She has been an editor at Elle, worked as a buyer for a retail store, lived in both New York City and San Francisco, raised her precious children Rex and Willow, and now has returned to focus on her inspiring Substack.

She is accomplished, dynamic, and has thrived in every role she’s embraced — all of which have led her to where she is today. I loved our time together and look forward to hosting Alicia again here in town soon!

xx Jane

We asked Alicia a few questions so that you can get to know her, and we are so excited to share a little bit about a woman who inspires us:

Tell me a little about what you do

I am an OG blogger / editor / content creator ~ who moved over to Substack. I now send out a weekly style newsletter (everything I'm into, style inspiration and edits) that has been so much fun for me to curate! I also work with various brands on campaigns and take on a few styling clients in San Francisco / the Bay Area as my schedule allows. Styling and editing has always been my biggest passion so I enjoy a closet edit and connecting with my audience in person that way!

What inspires you?

Travel! My girlfriends. Street style. The runway collections... a deep dive on Pinterest. :)

What is one great piece of advice you received?

Always stay true to you. And authenticity is magnetic!

Who are your greatest influences?

My mom and my sister (two old souls that are the most genuine / special ladies in my life!).

What is the best advice you've ever received?

Stick to your own lane.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

My kids :) ... especially at the ages they're at (6 & 8) you can start to see more of the decisions they're making for themselves and their actions, which feels really rewarding as a parent to see when they make the right choices.

What is one challenge you've experienced that has led to growth?

Moving from New York (where I was working in the industry at Elle Magazine at the time) to a smaller city and taking a leap of faith to be a buyer for a small boutique. It was a really amazing experience for me. I eventually came back around to blogging full time but it was invaluable to wear all of the various hats in the industry and realize my strong suit is editing.

Is there anything you'd like to share about your journey to where you are now?

Gosh I've evolved so much ~ and have truly grown up with my audience which is really quite amazing. I've had my creative ups and downs but it's truly been my audience (many of which I also now consider friends) that inspires me to keep showing up!

How do you make time to recharge?

At home, in my weekly routine, I love my long neighborhood walks with girlfriends and hot yoga. I love a good sweat!! I try to do one or the other every day and it just always helps me reset / recharge! Lounging and reading. I also love making time for an evening shower / my skincare routine. And travel always inspires me and recharges me creatively.

How do you hope to inspire and uplift others?

My audience is a woman just like myself... about my age, living in a city (most of us have kids now) with a shared love for fashion. I am always so inspired when I meet them... so I just always think of my content as sharing my finds and what I'm loving / into as I would with any girlfriend or my sister.

Where is your happy place?

New York! and San Francisco

Do you have anything fun on the horizon?

A trip with some of my closest girlfriends to New York this fall. One works in art (so she's in charge of planning what galleries we visit)... one is in design and just always knows what's cool (so we are putting her in charge of the restaurants)... and I'm the fashion friend so I get to choose what stores we go to. I still haven't been to the new Dries store which I'm excited about ~ it looks gorgeous.
