AL FRESCO THANKSGIVING DINING
We are headed to Sullivan’s Island for Thanksgiving, and I could not be more jazzed. Every other year, we host my dad’s side of the family. Since most of the family lives in Charleston, we agreed that Sullivan’s was the perfect spot. Our old home there, is the perfect beach house – rustic and beautiful. But, when it comes to hosting 36 people (10 littles), I am afraid we might be packed in like sardines inside the house. So, I decided to take the bull by the horns and plan to move the party outdoors. I love alfresco dining! I will be hoping for perfect weather.
Since I took charge of the rentals to upfit the front yard as our dining room, I have been exempt from a food contribution. While I love to cook, it does feel nice to know I will not be vying for a space in the little kitchen. I also know that I will be hosting my parents and my little fam for Christmas, so I will have plenty of time to prepare the delicious menu I have already been working on.
I went with simple white table linens, white plates, simple flatware, etc and have been looking for some simple but cool ways to make the table festive. I like the idea of something simple for each person’s place setting and some simple low greenery for the table. While I love the looks of this long table, we are going to go with two large square tables. We don’t all get to see each other often enough, so I am thinking this will be the best set up for face time with more people.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about Thanksgiving. Do any of you have any fun table decorations you can share? I would love to hear.
Wishing you all the Happiest of Thanksgivings! xo JPC
